The German Energy Agency’s (dena) European Biomethane Conference is a platform dedicated to identifying biomethane trends and prospects in Europe and to discussing key aspects necessary to further accelerate the development of biomethane markets.
This year´s conference will take place on 20 June 2016 in Berlin and will address key issues re-garding biomethane:
- innovative technologies and concepts
- news and trends about well established and emerging markets in Europe
- opportunities and challenges of the European regulatory framework (RED, AFID and others)

The first European Biomethane Conference in 2015 was attended by more than 130 participants from 15 countries. Amongst them were representatives from DONG Energy, BASF, EdF and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. The conference is organised by dena, the German Energy Agency, who has been implementing various projects such as the EU project GreenGasGrids, the Biogas Partnership, and the Biogas Register, to promote the development of the German and European biomethane markets since 2008.
