On behalf of the European Energy Network (EnR), the EnR Presidency & Secretariat 2016 submitted an EnR Consultation Paper “National Energy Agencies in Europe on Parameters for Realising the Targets of the Energy Union” to the European Commission and European Parliament on 19 December 2016.
With this joint publication, participating EnR members intend to contribute some asset and direction to the ongoing debates and developments around the EU’s energy and climate policies and the realization of the Energy Union.
EnR is determined to further examine the recently published Winter Package against the background of the Paper. Due to its finalisation coinciding with the publication of the Winter Package, the present Paper does not accommodate a thorough discussion of the latter. At EnR, we are convinced, however, that the Paper comes up with important findings and insights fed by the extensive expertise and practical experience on national and transnational levels available through the member agencies in EnR.
